In addition to the programme of special events organised each term, there are regular events happening all the year round to which you are invited.
If you live on campus or locally, you are very welcome to any of the Sunday Masses at St. Peter’s. Click here for directions. You are, of course, very welcome to attend any of the parish Masses. These are at 6.00 pm on Saturday evening and 9.15 am and 11.00 am on Sunday morning. However, during the University term-time there is Mass at 6.00 pm each Sunday at St. Peter’s especially for University members. This is normally followed by a social event for students in the parish hall. A great way to get to know your fellow Catholics and enjoy yourself.
There is Mass every day at St. Peter’s together with the opportunity for Confession and a wide range of devotions such as Morning Prayer, rosary, a Novena to Our Lady, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and Benediction. Click here for further details.
We have the rosary and a Lectio Divina (Scripture study) group on alternate Thursdays at 7.30 pm at St. Peter's. (There is normally Mass beforehand at 7.00 pm). Some students have also joined the Faith Workshop which meets at 8.00 pm on Wednesday evenings to read and reflect on a specific Catholic book.
You may be someone who has only just come across the Catholic Church, or you may be from a Catholic family but for whatever reason you missed out on the sacraments of Holy Communion, Confession and Confirmation as you were growing up. The RCIA programme (Rite of Initiation of Christian Adults) is for you. Starting in the early autumn and going through to Easter next year, we look at what Catholics believe and why. There is absolutely no commitment on your part, but, if this is right for you, you would become a Catholic and receive the sacraments next Easter. See Fr. Mark for details of the programme.
